William Tolson has an extensive musical background as a guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist.  His music appeals to a diverse audience of traditional, contemporary, and southern gospel music lovers.  William’s gift as a guitarist and songwriter is evident in his many musical compositions.  He has a guitar-playing style that is uniquely his own, which has landed him guest appearances on many gospel television programs.  William’s vision of inspiring others through music led him to start his own record label, Skill Records, LLC and publishing company, DuTyme Music Publishing.

His gift as a guitarist and songwriter has led him to write many musical compositions.  Those compositions led to the recording of seven albums, including three instrumentals, three choir albums and as a solo artist.  He also released two singles. The most recent is “Never Let Go.”

Over the years, William has dedicated his musical service to the Lord.  He currently serves as the Minister of Music at his church where he has been choir director for over 45 years.

Highlights of William's musical ministry are appearances on the Great American Gospel TV program, multiple recordings for Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN), recording for the television program American Gospel Onstage, recipient of the Gospel Blue M.I.C. Achievement Award for Instrumental Artist of the Year, and charting in the top 60’s on Gospel Billboard Chart for his single, "It’s My Prayer".

William's music ministry extends beyond the church doors into the community.  Adolescents have been known to do their homework listening to his instrumental albums, while others have spoken of how his music ministry delivered them out of a state of depression.  He performs for the homeless, senior citizens, at benefit concerts for cancer, and fundraisers to feed the hungry.

William Tolson is the recipient an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Breakthrough Bible College & Theological Seminary for his music ministry.
